What will life look like after CGA?

Things are becoming even more clear.

So, you know how at the eye doctor, they get to the point where they flip lenses back and forth and ask you “1 or 2?” to try and get the clearest picture for you? That’s how I feel right now. God keeps making things even more defined and clear in my life and where it’s going.

I am THRILLED to say that I am coming back to Minnesota December 19th, and when I do it will be for a good long while. I am ready to settle in, not because it is home, but because it is where I feel God wants me right now.

So many of the things waiting for me there – City Teens (church youth group), City Groups, my church family – line up with the calling God has placed on my life, or as we define it in my favorite class here at CGA, God’s unique purpose for my life. I want to dive back into teaching and discipling and just live out all the Lord is showing me here.

I plan to continue blogging and building my platform. I will also be in the process of editing and revising my first book, hoping to publish sometime in 2016! I can’t believe I just typed that sentence! Thanks Papa…and story track 🙂

I will also get a full-time job, not just because I need to pay my bills, but because I want a second chance to steward a salary well. At this point, I don’t know exactly what type of job I am looking for and I’m not sure it’s a main concern or priority for me right now. I feel my passions will be unleashed through my involvement with City on a Hill and working on editing my book and blogging.

I am also working on a shorter eBook that will be available for you to download and read by the time I graduate from CGA! So, GET EXCITED! All of these things are a part of living out my calling – a combination of my passions, skills, the world’s needs, and a plan. So, I wanted to share with all of you my calling, in a sentence (it’s a work in progress, but I like it a lot so far):

My calling in life is to awaken lasting truth in youth through creatively communicating the heart of the Father.

It’s hard to put into words all the Lord has done in this semester – how He’s challenged me, encouraged me, stretched me, and revealed His promises to me. But all of these tangible action steps I will be taking as I make the trek back to Minnesota and settle in are the first fruits of those things.

Right now, I just smile and look around me, enjoying the last couple weeks of life with my CGA family here, especially my Lake House family.

My heart is content and patient, knowing the Lord has some pretty amazing things coming down the pike for me in the upcoming months.

I am so thankful for all of you and that you have been walking this journey with me – believing in what the Lord is doing in my life and that it’s all for His glory!

I won’t be using this blog anymore, so if you want to keep up with me as this adventure with Papa continues to unfold, you’ll want to subscribe to my new blog at emilywerness.com to receive my weekly updates!

I love you all.

And I still stand by what I said all those months ago in Cambodia, month 1 of my World Race: time is a tricky, tricky vixen. Less than two weeks left of CGA. Hard to believe.
