Emily Rose Werness

Werness. Lil’ Nessie. Wernie. Weenus. E dubs. Ernie. Emily Rose with the turned up nose. G-mon. Fluffy….I am a 25-year old woman of many names, but you can know me simply as Emily.

Here are 15 fun facts about my life to help paint a better picture of this peculiar treasure God created:

15. I was born and raised in the great state of Minnesota, where Vikings football and Twins baseball are king, where ‘oh yah’ is the catch phrase, and 40 degrees means it’s time to whip out the shorts and flip-flops.

SKOL            In Minnesota, we call this April.

14.  Cheez-its. Delicious.

13. 13 is my favorite number. No, I do not believe it is superstitious (maybe just a little stitious). No, it is not because Taylor Swift and I are birthday twins. It is because I was born on December 13 though…:)

12. Books are legit. I love to read and always have. When it’s a good one, I just can’t put it down!

11. Blue – it’s my favorite color.

10. Coffee. I love the smell, the taste, the warmth it brings me on an early Monday morning….oh and the caffeine. That’s some good stuff too. CARIBOU IS THE BEST!

9. I’ve been known to quote movies a lot…it’s like my second language.

8. Building off of number 9, I love Disney movies – the classics cannot be touched, such as Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and Robin Hood, but there is room in my heart for more, such as Tangled and Frozen.

7. Being outside is awesome. Hiking, walking, boating, exploring, climbing…it’s all fantastic. Just call me the female Jeremiah Johnson! Okay, maybe we shouldn’t go that far…

6. If you’re driving around with me in a car, chances are country music is blasting from the radio.

5. I am a Bulldog! I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a BA in Communication and minors in English and Psychology.

4. Lakota Journey (Mission, SD) and Wind River Ranch (Estes Park, CO) are two ministries that have made a huge impact on me and are definitely a part of how God led me to the World Race.

3. C.S. Lewis describes my life with this thought, “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” I love my friends.

2. My family…we refer to ourselves as the McCrazies at times, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. They are always there for me, both Wernesses and McCradys alike.

1. I am a Daughter of the King. This is my identity. The grace given to me by my Father by sending His only son to take my place on that cross is what frees me. It gives me the joy and hope that sustains me. I want to live this life all for Him, to His glory.
